Life Recovery Treatment Program
A Unique Approach to Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Throughout the last century of the Mission's service, both alcohol and drug addictions have been serious problems
in society and root causes of homelessness. Men with drug or alcohol addictions, who are ready for long-term help and
to make major changes in thinking, lifestyle and methods of dealing with their problems, can enter into the Mission's
fully state-licensed level 3-C, residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program. A state-licensed, medically monitored
program for recovery from addiction provides long-term, in-patient care by a certified, professional staff.
The program is a spiritually-based approach to recovery, using the 12-step philosophical model with Biblical bridges. The goal is not only individual spiritual renewal, but also the restoration of the man to his family and community (See Galatians 6:1).
Counselors provide individualized treatment plans. Clients participate in individual counseling and group therapy sessions.
Because clients have other needs beyond their treatment which may impact the success or failure of their treatment, the Mission counselors advocate, assist, and facilitate with needs such as judicial, mental health, and medical, etc, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
No fees are charged to clients or medical plans. No client who is sincere about recovery is denied services because of funding difficulties. The Mission now accepts Magellan clients.
The Life Recovery Treatment Program is privately funded, largely by individual and church contributions. In 2007, the Life Recovery Treatment Program served 100 individuals with a success rate of 69%. PA Dept. of Health Facility number 397041.
